INBOUND FREIGHT COORDINATOR

To be based in New Annan, PE.

 

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.


Reporting to the Network Production Planner, the Inbound Freight Coordinator will act as liaison between Buyers, Suppliers and Carriers. The successful candidate must thrive in a fast paced, ever changing environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism, accuracy and detail. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a “can do” attitude.

 

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree, technical diploma or equivalent experience in business with an emphasis on operations, logistics or a related quantitative field;
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in a production and / or logistics planning environment would be considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with carriers to monitor changes in freight ordering
  • Track, trace and monitor component material for all sites
  • Network with suppliers to ensure all information is received in a timely fashion
  • Actively monitor shipments and pricing
  • Become familiar with routing information (pricing, shipping locations, possible alternate carriers, lead times)
  • Work with Supply Chain to generate inbound shipping schedule (dock scheduling)
  • Work with team members from Purchasing, Production / Material Planning, and Shipping / Receiving.
  • Facilitate finance system cost functionality to ensure accurate reporting
  • Apply Landed Cost Rules to inbound shipments in JD Edwards
  • Analyze and update Landed Cost Rules contained in JD Edwards to ensure that they remain accurate and complete
  • Generate reports that monitor supplier and vendor delivery performance.
  • Resolve carrier invoicing issues whenever the Bill of Lading, Landed Cost Rule and carrier invoice do not match
