SANITATION OPERATOR

 

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.

 

At Cavendish Farms in Jamestown we are currently seeking candidates for the role of Sanitation Operator.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education Required:  High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Years of Experience Required: <2 years of related work experience
  • Willingness to work 12 hour shifts, may include nights (please inquire)
  • Willingness to complete food safety and other job training and comply with SQF standards
  • Attention to detail

Sanitation Operator Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and document inspections of rinse dry scrubbers, polisher and spud pump, preheater, halver, tapered roll sizer, four lane and vortex tanks, cutter deck, incline to blancher, mainline blancher and the decline dewater on a daily basis.  Disassemble and assemble process equipment and clean with cleaning chemicals.  Complete items on the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Conduct and document daily PH readings at the spud pump, preheater, evenflow tank, knife tank, co-line flume tank and the tank located in front of the co-line sorter.  Collect defoamer readings daily and refill defoamer as needed.  Conduct frequent walk-throughs ensuring sanitation procedures are being met.
  • Keep the Sanitation Supervisor and Shift Manager informed of daily issues and/or needs relating to sanitation of the processing area.  In addition, step in for Janitors in other areas of Production as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.  Also assist other personnel as needed to maintain the same conditions in the processing area.  Attend and participate in meetings, training, and continuing education programs internally or externally as deemed appropriate by management.
