Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.


Key responsibilities:

         Realizes the production schedule in accordance with the standards regarding quality, efficiency and recovery. Collects and checks the recorded production data (checklists, reports etc.), observes deviations during realization and, if necessary, takes corrective action(s). Informs employees and Production manager about the corrective actions. and discusses possibilities to improve. 

         Decides whether to stop the production process in case of abnormalities. Puts together the shift crew, based on the production schedule.  Monitors the activities that need to be carried out in case a product change occurs.  Sets the priorities with regard to maintenance activities and communicates this with Maintenance.

         Takes care of an effective and efficient work organization. Puts together work schedules for the shift鈥檚 crew every two weeks, reckoning with scheduled vacation days, PTO and absence through illness.

         Is involved in personnel matters in the shift, such the need for hiring and dismissals of current employees. Carries out evaluations. Advises with regard to pay rates and other benefits, promotion, demotion and establishes proposals for training. Takes care of the training of new employees.

         Based on the sample results of the raw, adjusts the production schedule and/or processing parameters in agreement with Operators. The scheduler and Production manager are informed accordingly. Cooperates with QA Supervisor on hold product. Organizes shift meetings and takes part in shift managers鈥 progress meetings.



         High School Diploma/or equivalent required

         Associate degree preferred

         4-6 years managerial experience

         All employees are required to complete food safety training and comply with all SQF standards

         Employees are expected to complete monthly, annual, and job training as necessary

         Individuals will be trained according to the training matrix
