Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Reporting Warehouse Manager, the successful applicant will be a strong correspondent and will be able to keep everyone informed in a confident way. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and organizing the transportation of inbound and outbound goods in our state-of-the-art warehouse.  They will work closely with Customer Service to proactively plan customer loads to prevent customer shortages. 

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse (shipping/receiving) environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows operating system
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks according to urgency
  • Ability to quickly reason and solve practical problems; 
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated self-starter and a strong work ethic; 
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic work environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Using JD Edwards/Bedrock and WAMAS computer systems, review daily shipping orders and schedule loads into Mercury Gate and adjust as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate inventory availability and identify and report possible load shortages to Customer Service, Production Planning, and Corporate Logistics. Monitor production and adjust transfers to reflect changes as they arise.
  • Prepare shipping documents for every customer and storage loads, i.e. Bills of Lading, Customs documents, etc., according to Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Assist in reviewing shipping documents for accuracy.  Perform shipment confirmation for all outbound loads when necessary.
  • Assist the Supervisor in all inventory cycle & physical counts; research variances in inventory and resolve errors.  
  • Along with the Supervisor, recommend warehouse consolidations in the ASRS Warehouse to optimize space
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Attend and participate in meetings, training and continuing education programs internally or externally as deemed appropriate by management.
