We are looking for a Senior Program Manager for our Halifax, NS office.


Reporting to the Technical Planning Manager, the Senior Program Manager will manage all aspects of a large scale, complex engineering program (in excess of $2M in value) from start to finish so that all projects are completed on time and within budget. This individual must be able to leverage stakeholder management skills while managing a project team. As the position is primarily for tasks under a shipbuilding contract, experience in a shipyard environment is considered an asset.

  • University Degree in Engineering or Business, PMP certification
  • 5-8+ years relevant work experience
  • Practical experience of having been a project/program manager for large and complex initiatives.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and experience managing a team
  • Strong client-facing and internal communication skills, written and oral and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning the overall program and monitoring progress and performance to ensure milestones are met across the various projects.
  • Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved (customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team member performance)
  • Continuous communications with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services
  • Conducting program and project meetings and preparing reports to communicate the status of the projects within and beyond the project teams
  • Measuring project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques to permit accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle
  • Integrating work processes of multiple stakeholders and subcontractors to achieve optimum balance of budget and schedule performance
  • Create and maintain comprehensive program documentation
  • Ensuring resource availability and allocation to tasks and projects, including liaison with other departments and programs to secure specialized resources for the program
  • Oversee the planning, execution, control and closing of portfolio of projects.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in scope, schedule and costs
