FLEET MANAGER
TORONTO, ON

Irving Consumer Products produces branded and private label bathroom tissue, facial tissue, paper towels, as well as napkins.

 

The Fleet Manager is responsible for for the daily execution of shunt and shuttle movements at both the plant and inter-warehouse (currently 3 warehouses in the Toronto area). This position is also responsible for the maintenance of fleet vehicles to ensure deliveries and distributions remain on schedule and within established budgets. This position will work closely with Irving Consumer Product deployment and transportation teams to utilize the fleet to its full potential.



Qualifications:

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree / Technical Diploma
  • Years of Experience Required: 1-2 Years of relevant experience
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Big picture orientation, continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Detail oriented and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all drivers understand and procure the licenses and permits they need to legally carry loads as well as understand guidelines and procedures enforced by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO).
  • Work closely with vehicle and trailer maintenance vendors to ensure accordance with CVOR requirements and to ultimately find ways to reduce downtimes due to repairs or lack of routine maintenance.
  • Plan driver labor in compliance with production and slide plan as well as work with transportation and deployment to utilize and maximize fleet capabilities.
  • To make sure all pulp loads are loaded on time at the warehouse and delivered onto to the site.
  • Ensure that all load paperwork associated with each run is accurate and filed accordingly.
  • Establish and report KPIs to track productivity, highlight trends, and drive efficiencies.
  • Driver Scheduling and Payroll.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources (Protrans) to add quality employee drivers and contracted drivers to the fleet.
  • Seek out efficiencies to drive fleet improvements and capabilities.
