Irving Group of companies and is in the business of building quality ships and repairing vessels. The company's primary site is Halifax Shipyard, with three other locations in the Maritime Provinces. Irving Shipbuilding is currently working on a number of significant projects for the Department of National Defense and the Canadian Coast Guard. Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Engineering Integration Senior Managar.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, NS.



  • 7-10 years’ experience in a commercial logistics/contracts’ management field including 3-5 years in a leadership role 
  • 5 years’ experience in Naval Shipbuilding (complex warship) capital Defense Programs 
  • Extensive knowledge of a shipyard production environment 
  • Experience working with long term multi-million-dollar contracts involving complex risk management and highly complex system procurement.
  • Experience with contracting/supply of Vendor Furnished Information (VFI) including OEM data gathering for the design and build processes. 
  • Experience working with Integrated Master Schedules between Shipbuilder and Government Organizations.
  • Knowledge of ITAR export control requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience of setting up International and cross-functional material supply chains.
  • Knowledge of high value material military care and protection standards
  • Accountable team worker

  • Plan, manage and report on budgets, schedule and progress within the EVM environment
  • Good analysis and presentation abilities, able to communicate across organizational levels

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with the members of ISI Supply Chain function and CSC Program, provide leadership that ensures all Supply Chain plans align with the Engineering delivery schedule 
  • Ensure all tasking and actions pertaining to OEM are promulgated and acted upon by ISI CSC Engineering team, to include on time deliverables, within budget and in accordance with technical and system performance requirements
  • Provide input to the design and development of the CSC supply chain, including OEM supplier selection, Government Furnished and Govt to Govt (G2G) plans.
  • Build relationships at Executive level with OEM and Government suppliers to ensure that problems, issues and improvement opportunities are addressed in a timely and effective manner 
  • Provide oversight and guidance to all externally supplied deliverables into the technical portfolio
  • Interact with Canadian Government, Royal Canadian Navy and International CSC Program personnel
  • Continually assess risks and build appropriate mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Work in accordance with the Integrated Master Schedule for the project
  • Work in accordance with the Earned Value Management System into the CSC Project Office
  • Plan, manage and report on budgets, schedule and progress within the EVM environment
  • Manage project administration functions such as document control, risk management, etc.
  • Drive continuous improvement in all operational processes in the business
  • Ability to work with ambiguity, to define solutions
  • Apply sound knowledge of the business/industry in making decisions and formulating strategies 
  • Build culture where meeting customers’ expectations is a top priority
