The Construction and Equipment Division, a part of the J.D. Irving, Limited’s group of companies, is a key player in the North American construction industry. With five operating units within the division, the group provides heavy equipment and crane services, civil construction, modular home and commercial buildings, and steel and fabrication services to its customers.

Are you a new or recent grad looking to jump start your career in Human Resources and grow and develop as an HR professional within a dynamic group of companies? We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Coordinator to join the J.D. Irving Construction and Equipment Division!
What You’ll Do:
In this role, you will gain exposure to five unique companies, and play a key role in supporting the success of our programs and initiatives.  You will be thinking on your feet and encouraged to use creativity to solve challenges.  In addition to day to day support for our employees and HR team, you will have the following responsibilities:
HRIS system and Reporting
  • Ensure systems are maintained by validating and entering information 
  • Reconcile employee data to ensure all systems are in sync and accurate
  • Process daily transactions
  • Create and maintain scheduled and ad hoc reporting
  • Update and maintain the HR scorecard, metrics and KPIs and the corporate scorecard
HR support
  • Collaborate with site HR business partners on various HR projects and initiatives
  • Coordinate the employee engagement survey process including serving as the primary point-of-contact
  • Participate in Divisional Recruitment efforts, as required
  • Perform any tasks associated with administering HR programs
  • Provide strong client support to Divisional managers and employees on a daily basis
What You’ll Need:
  • Post-Secondary Degree in a related discipline, preferably Business Administration with a focus in Human Resources Management
  • High energy, self-starter with attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Goal oriented, demonstrated initiative and sense of urgency, and enjoy working in a team environment
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a desire to learn new systems to use analytics to drive the success of our businesses
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
