The JDI Supply Chain team is responsible for the procurement of goods and services across our varied business operations and is currently seeking candidates for the role of Senior IT Buyer.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced IT Senior Buyer to lead procurement and sourcing of technology products and services for J.D. Irving, Limited. Reporting to the Manager of IT Procurement & Telecommunications, the IT Senior Buyer will be responsible for executing procurement strategies, negotiating contract renewals, and managing vendor relationships to reduce costs, mitigate risks and build strong vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT procurement, vendor management, and a proven track record of driving cost savings and value creation in the technology supply chain.

Responsibilities:

• Implement procurement strategies for IT products and services, aligning with business objectives and technology requirements.
• Lead the sourcing and selection of technology vendors, conducting market research and supplier evaluations to identify cost-effective and high-quality IT solutions.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements with technology vendors to achieve favorable terms and conditions for IT purchases.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT teams and business units, to understand technology needs and requirements, and ensure alignment with procurement strategies.
• Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including vendor selection, request for proposals (RFPs), statement of work (SOWs), and contract management.
• Monitor and evaluate vendor performance, quality, and compliance to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and service level agreements.
• Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and technology advancements to identify opportunities for innovation and cost savings in IT procurement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, information technology, or related field. Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Technology Procurement Executive (CTPE) would be an asset.
• Proven experience (5-8+ years) in procurement, vendor management, or supply chain management, with a strong understanding of technology sourcing and contract negotiation principles.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with technology vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret market data, vendor proposals, and technology specifications to make strategic procurement decisions.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management abilities, with a focus on driving results and achieving cost savings in IT procurement.
