TRUSS FABRICATOR

 

In business since 1957, Kent Homes is the largest home builder in Atlantic Canada.  With our plant in Bouctouche, New Brunswick, we have 150,000 square feet of space dedicated to building quality homes and offices year-round.  We serve remote, rural and urban centers throughout Atlantic Canada and Maine, US.

 

Kent Homes is accepting applications for a Truss Fabricator.

 

The ideal candidate must have a willingness and ability to perform different tasks on a repetitive basis in a structured environment. They will be efficient, safety-minded and will demonstrate an ability to work in a fast paced-ever changing environment. The Truss Fabricator must be a self-motivated, and diligent worker.

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED, Associate’s Degree or Trade Certification
  • Minimum 3 years’ related experience preferred; experience in a truss building or carpentry setting is an asset
  • Must be physically capable of performing all work required of this position
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of power tools
  • Needs to be competent at basic Metric measuring
  • Ability to work well independently and with a team
  • Dependable, flexible and responsive


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble precut parts to build trusses and similar supports or wall sections
  • Move specified precut parts to work area and position parts in jig by hand
  • Use hand tools
  • Place metal reinforcement plates over connecting joints and connects parts at joints, using hammer
  • Verifies dimensions of precut parts and accuracy of assembly, using ruler and gauges
  • Ensure fabricated trusses match build sheets
  • Perform assigned work to production and quality standards
  • Make routine decisions and problem solving techniques to resolve any issues that may arise
  • Report and document any material, production, or quality issues
  • Ensure work environment is clean and safe
  • Perform all job duties with a high degree of safety consciousness
