ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENTATION TEAM LEADER

Lake Utopia Paper, located in St. George New Brunswick, produces high quality corrugating medium for packaging. Our product is made of Canadian hardwood from environmentally certified forests, and recycled, sorted corrugated containers.

Team leaders play a critical role in the success of the mill. As the team leader, you will be responsible for safely leading a team 10+ Electrical and Instrumentation Tradespeople employees to ensue effective operation of the mill. You will coach and develop employees to meet goals while helping to remove obstacles preventing them from executing work. You will be responsible for performance management of the team, creating development plans and carrying out disciplinary action when necessary. You will use daily management skills to develop and execute the plan and to facilitate problem solving with the team. You will determine how best to motivate and reward your team for a job well done. You will be responsible for ensuring all safety policies are strictly adhered to, and that crew scheduling and payroll validation are in line with the Collective Agreement. 

 
Qualifications:
  • Certified Electrician/ Instrumentation Technician, Maintenance Technician, Electrical/ Instrumentation Engineering Technologist, or Electrical Engineer
  • 7-10 years of experience 
  • Previous experience leading a team in a unionized environment would be considered an asset.
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Proven safety record
  • Ability to work in a fast paced production environment (time management skills, ability to think on the fly, adaptable, flexible to work environment)
  • Demonstrated Problem solving skills 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, JD Edwards, Enterprise One, Kronos, and CMMS is an asset
