ASSOCIATE ACCOUNTANT (CONTRACT)
Midland Transport Limited has become a leader in the transportation industry by providing superior quality service to our customers. Our services include LTL, T/L, Courier Services, and Third Party Logistics/ Brokerage which provide the convenience of one-stop shipping.
Midland Transport is currently seeking a full-time Associate Accountant (Contract) to be based out of our Head Office in Dieppe, NB. The selected candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a "Can Do" attitude. This is a contract role available immediately and ending in August 2025.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education, preferably in business administration with accounting concentration;
- 0-2 years of relevant accounting work experience;
- A pro-active approach, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a continuous improvement mindset;
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and strong organization skills are required;
- Ability to be flexible, effectively manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work as a team;
- Experience with accounting software;
- Strong Microsoft Office skill, especially Excel, is a necessity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the maintenance of the general ledger accounts and development of financial statements and reports. Maintenance of the general ledger includes performing journal entries and general ledger review;
- Supporting operational reporting requirements;
- Building relationships with financial and business analysts;
- Performing all necessary accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards;
- Supporting the annual audit process.
