Director of Sales & Marketing

Our division is currently seeking a Director of Sales & Marketing for Universal Truck and Trailer located in Dieppe, N.B.

Universal Truck and Trailer is Atlantic Canada's largest heavy duty truck and trailer dealership featuring the most up-to-date dealer service bays in Southern New Brunswick.  We are an authorized sales, service, parts & warranty dealership for premium products including Freightliner, Western Star Trucks, and Manac Trailers.  In addition, we service all makes and models for class 6, 7 and 8 vehicles, including luxury class RV's.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for profitable revenue generation.  The successful candidate needs to ensure there is commercial rigor in place to successfully deliver the plan.  With profitable growth in mind, the successful candidate will have a strong sense of business development.  This role will provide strategic leadership to the vehicle sales and outside parts teams.



  • Define market potential by analyzing market surveys and sales statistics; estimating volume and profit potential & preparing forecasts
  • Improve branding by developing our social media presence
  • Design promotional strategies and advertising campaigns
  • Develop and implement a financial plan that executes on sales & marketing strategy
  • Provide leadership and achieve results through accountability, planning and communication
  • Manage inventory of new and used vehicles
  • Improve market position by seeking out new accounts for new & used equipment sales
  • Maintain relationships with key customers by exploring specific needs and resolving problems.
  • Undergraduate degree in Technical/Mechanical, Commerce or related field
  • MBA would be considered and asset
  • Previous experience in automotive or truck sales is preferred
  • Must exude energy and passion for superior customer service and building and retaining customer loyalty
  • Demonstrate ability to energize, empower and engage team to get results
  • Reputation for effective execution
  • Ability to deal with conflict and adversity when leading teams through change
  • Track record as a team player
  • Demonstrated above average communication skills
  • Ability to organize and more importantly prioritize
  • Must be known for their ‘edge’ and competitive drive to get results
  • Demonstrated proficiency developing, working with, and implementing Business Plans
