Chief Pilot 


The Job:


We are looking for a Chief Pilot to join our Forest Patrol Limited team.


Based in Saint John and Juniper, NB and reporting to the Operations Manager, the Chief Pilot will be responsible for the supervisor of the Forest Patrol pilot team as well as all flight operations. 


Requirements:

  • Accomplished Commercial Pilot.
  • Experience in aerial application (fertilizer, herbicide, and insecticide) and forest fire fighting, would be considered an asset. 
  • Strong leadership skills and behaviors with an emphasis on team alignment. 
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of managing deadlines and priorities in a result driven environment. 
  • Ability to develop, motivate, and foster positive relationships with all stakeholders. 
  • Ability to lead safe and effective operations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead in the areas of safe operations, continuous improvement and operations excellence. 
  • Development of flight training programs for all rotary and fixed wing pilots. 
  • Responsible for the emergency preparedness and response of the pilot group. 
  • Manage for top-quartile employee engagement.
  • Ongoing assessment of pilots and flight operation effectiveness. 
  • Maintain a current and complaint information library, i.e. CARS, flight information manuals, Notam, Designated airspace handbook, VFR Supplement and maintenance schedule. 
  • Lead the pilot recruitment and succession planning process.
