CIVIL ENGINEER

NNB WOODLANDS

J.D. Irving, Limited, Woodlands Division is currently seeking candidates for a Civil Engineer position located in St-Leonard, NB.

 

Reporting to the Operation Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for drawing production and design on a wide range of engineering related projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education Required: Civil Engineering (Civil Technician with experience will be considered)
  • Years of Experience Required:  2-5 years of experience using the Autodesk Design Building Suite
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (layering techniques, objects, alignments and x-refs)
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Organizational, prioritizing and time management skills
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Surveying skills will be considered an asset
  • Bilingualism will be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, SharePoint, internet, and photo editing software

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and preparing engineering drawings using the Autodesk Design Building Suite
  • Participate in projects execution
  • 3D modeling and rendering
  • Maintaining drawing and file control standards
  • Familiar with topographic/survey data
  • Assisting the team with preliminary and detail design tasks
  • Preparing quantity and construction cost estimates
  • Assisting in developing engineering specifications
  • Assisting in the preparation of Contract Documents
  • Perform all other related tasks that will help accomplish the project
