DAL Engineering Student Job – Summer 2020 – Sawmill & Woodlands Divisions

 

The Sawmill & Woodlands Divisions are looking to hire a team of energetic and motivated student leaders for our summer programs across our various operating regions.

Your Opportunities:
  • Engineering Assistant - We have opportunities in both our Woodlands and Sawmills businesses. In these roles, students are involved in various projects, including mechanical optimization, maintenance planning and process improvement. Students work closely with our senior leaders to bring these projects to a successful conclusion. These positions are available as 4-month or 8-month co-op work terms.
  • Student Internship Program – This program has been designed to provide students with who have limited experience in the industry, with the foundational knowledge to have a successful career within the Sawmill and Woodlands Divisions. Student Interns work in several positions within our businesses, allowing the opportunity to acquire valuable communication and leadership skills. A valid Class 5 NB Driver’s License is required, or equivalent.

  • Seasonal Silviculture Program – Opportunities in our silviculture program include Planting Auditor, Tree Care, Planting Crew Chiefs, and Silviculture Supervisors. These students may be responsible for quality assessments, coordination of tree delivery, leading safety initiatives, and supervising either Tree Planting, Site Prep or Pre-Commercial Thinning programs. The silviculture program provides students with experience in leading operational changes, people management skills, and communication, all of which are important skills as a leader in the engineering environment. A valid Class 5 NB Driver’s License is required, or equivalent.
  • Forest Operations - These positions support our Road Construction and Harvesting Operations. Forest Operations students are paired with our professional Operations Supervisors who ensure our students’ successes in achieving meaningful job responsibilities. These positions provide an understanding of the business, while enabling practical experience in managing a commercial forestry operation. A valid Class 5 NB Driver’s License is required, or equivalent.
