Engineering Technical Manager

Our manufacturing facilities are located in Dieppe, New Brunswick, Toronto, Ontario, Fort Edward, New York, and Macon, Georgia.

Under the general direction of the Plant Manager, the Engineering Technical Manager's main role is providing effective process engineering resources, systems and support to Manufacturing (including Packaging, Product Development, Environmental compliance)  in a timely manner to help the Organization achieve the business goals across Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Development, implementation and maintenance of process engineering function
  • Providing leadership, guidance and management of process engineering team
  • In conjunction with production resources, provide process standardization (including SPC, centerlines)
  • Provide technical support and leadership to ensure the site environmental standards are met and compliance requirements are completed.  
  • Provide a high performing team environment that delivers results that meet or exceed expectations
  • Be the custodian and driver of methodical problem solving – providing skills, coaching and discipline to make sure that the appropriate level of rigor is applied to the problem solving process 
  • Proactively identify performance improvement opportunities (within the process engineering function for the team and individuals) that are directly linked with improving overall business goals
  • Monitoring of allocated resources and cost control for projects and ongoing day to day activities, measuring and improving department efficiency, whilst providing effective and timely support to production.

Successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education (Engineering, Manufacturing or related Technical field)
  • At least 10 years in a Process Engineering role, 2-3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with tissue making chemistry
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment including involvement in business improvement projects and techniques.
  • Project management skills coupled with the ability to deliver tangible business level results.
