Reports to: Director of Strategic Initiatives




The Analyst for Supply Chain will be a collaborative member of the Kent Distribution & Supply Chain management team who creates value out of data by generating insights that enable us to enhance our supply chain performance. They will also use visualization to enhance reporting and monitor data quality. He/she will proactively retrieve information from various sources and analyzes it for better understanding about how the business performs, and builds data driven tools that automate or facilitate processes within the company leading to improved business outcomes. 



  • Use predictive modeling and machine learning to increase and optimize customer experiences, increase revenue generation, optimize operations, and to drive other high value business outcomes.
  • Provide technical expertise to business users to support their analysis.
  • Work with business leaders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
  • Communicate with business leaders to educate and lead change associated with the development and deployment of models
  • Identify opportunities for improved data collection and working with businesses to make these reforms
  • Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Extend the company’s data with third party sources of information when needed
  • Model deployment and lifecycle management to monitor performance and maintain accuracy of results.
  • Build data visualizations where appropriate
  • Explore and investigate data to develop reports and dashboards and follow best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with CI team to help identify process opportunities or support analysis of root cause.



Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or an applied science
  • 3 or more years’ experience in developing value-added machine learning models that optimize operations, reduce risk, and or prescribe outcomes 

Technical Skills:

  • Fluent in data blending and cleansing techniques
  • Proficient in Data Visualization and dashboard creation
  • Familiar with common database systems and structures
  • UI/UX Design focused
  • Excellent understanding of supervised learning and unsupervised learning techniques
  • Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, Weka, Python, MatLab, etc Excellence in at least one of these is highly desirable
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as D3.js, GGplot, etc, Tableau, PowerBI, or equivalent
  • Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or HBase
  • Experience with distributed data/computing tools such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark
  • Applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
  • Experience working with and creating data architectures.
