BENEFITS ASSISTANT (Contract)

Formed in 2012, the Human Resources Shared Services, located in Saint John, New Brunswick, provides HR data management, reporting, and employee benefit services to more than 15,000 affiliated employees in Canada and the US, involving multiple provinces and states, numerous union contracts and several different payroll systems. The groups services cover many different business sectors, including Transportation & Logistics, Forestry, Shipbuilding, Manufacturing, Information Technology services & Corporate Services, etc. 

 

As a Benefits Assistant, you will work as part of the Benefits team supporting data administration. This position will be based out of our Head Office, Saint John, New Brunswick location

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary education required 
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Experience using Microsoft Office with ability to navigate Excel using formulas
  • Self-motivated, with a strong desire to succeed
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced, multi deadline, team oriented environment
  • Detail oriented with a genuine career interest in the area of Human Resources and Benefits

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day maintenance of Benefit transaction logs
  • Validating and entering new & updated employee information with guaranteed accuracy & timely completion
  • Reconcile employee data to ensure all systems are aligned with HCM Cloud
  • Process daily Human Resources, Payroll, and Benefits transactions as directed
  • Provide filing/scanning & general document support services to Benefits Administration team
  • Escalate issues in a timely manner to ensure efficiency & accuracy of the data
