The Job:
J.D. Irving, Limited is currently seeking candidates for Boiler Chief/Utilities Manager. Working with our team in Doaktown, New Brunswick, you will be responsible for:
- Foster a safe operating environment and make sure all employees work safely and safety policies are enforced consistent
- Ensure quality drying of lumber; while minimizing drying time and energy consumption.
- Lead and develop boiler operator team.
- Manage productivity and spending to attain budgeted targets.
- Care and maintenance of Steam Boilers and Lumber Drying Kilns.
- Daily Operation of Biomass Fired Boilers.
- Site Energy Management – look for opportunities to manage and conserve energy.
Your Qualifications:
- Power Engineer, 3rd class or higher
- Strong communication and people management skills
- Willingness to learn and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous mechanical experience in an industrial setting
- Troubleshooting abilities, with a technical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and some welding experience are preferred
- The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, well organized and detail oriented.
