Bayside Distribution is an established warehousing facility located in Halifax, Nova Scotia and part of the J.D. Irving Limited group of companies.

Our Team of professionals provides storage and distribution solutions for a major partner in the National Shipbuilding Strategy. Our commitment to our customer is to deliver the highest quality of parts, ensuring the safety of all involved in vessel construction and for the safety of the dedicated women and men serving in our Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Coast Guard.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Continuous Improvement Associate position.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting warehouse operations in driving business improvement.
• Leading the implementation of business improvement initiatives throughout the company such as 5S, Lean, or Daily Management implementations.
• Generating & Using both reporting and analytic software such as Tableau, Power BI and our warehouse management software CSNX to deliver timely and insightful information to management.
• Learning and using process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma to tackle business problems and improve efficiencies.
• Depending on experience, this role may evolve to include other responsibilities in the future.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a self-starter and team-oriented individual possessing a strong work ethic plus:

• Good communication skills including the ability to present to groups, facilitate meetings/workshops and interact with associates throughout the organization.
• Works independently
• Ability to motivate a team.
• Well-organized with proven ability to manage deadlines and priorities.
• Great attention to detail and basic math skills
• High level of Experience using Microsoft Office including Excel and Power Point
• 3 to 5 years of Professional Work Experience
• Candidate must have lived in Canada for 5 years and able to receive Reliability and/or Secret Clearances

Nice to have:

• University degree (preferably in Industrial Engineering, Engineering or Business)
• Project management experience
• PMP
• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma Methodology
