CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT LEADER - SIX SIGMA 

 

Midland Transport Limited has become a leader in the transportation industry by providing superior quality service to our customers.  Our services include LTL, T/L, Courier Services, and Third Party Logistics/ Brokerage which provide the convenience of one-stop shipping.

 

Midland Transport is currently seeking a full-time Continuous Improvement Leader with a Six Sigma Black Belt designation. This position is based out of our head office in Dieppe, NB reporting to the Director of Planning. 



Successful Candidate will possess the following:

  • Post-Secondary Degree (Engineering Degree an asset but not required)
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • A result driven attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent analytical abilities
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and planning skills
  • Strong project management skills 
  • Ability to effectively coach business improvement leaders, project champions, process owners and team members
  • Leadership skills to effectively and efficiently lead and motivate teams
  • Ability to lead change at all levels of the organization
  • Problem solving ability with a required sense of urgency
  • Previous process and project management experience
  • A strong detail oriented mindset
  • Proficient knowledge of excel and MS Office 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the business improvement strategy for the company
  • Support the business plan by communicating opportunities for improvement initiatives, cost savings and updating the project/initiative hopper
  • Serve as internal expert on process improvement tools and techniques
  • Coach and train business improvement leaders in the application of Lean Six Sigma 
  • Lead process improvement projects to successful completion by utilizing data to drive fact driven strategies to increase efficiencies and achieve financial targets
  • Provide strong support for process improvement initiatives and teams post event to ensure completion of action items in a timely fashion
  • Plan and execute process improvement events such as Kaizens, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
  • Document current processes, and collect and analyse data as required
  • Track and report project benefits
  • Promote standard work within the company
  • Support process improvement training initiatives
  • Work closely with the management team to develop change management plans
