Midland Transport is currently seeking a full-time Director, Human Resources reporting to the VP of Human Resources at Head Office in Dieppe, NB.

The role of Director, Human Resources is a key strategic business partner and supports the vision of HR as a trusted partner. This role will be responsible for  delivering innovative and collaborative HR initiatives contributing to Midland’s goal as a sustainable business and carrier of choice in the transportation industry. 

The selected candidate will be high energy self-starter with a strong work ethic and a “Can Do” attitude.



Successful Candidate will possess the following:

  • Post-secondary education with an emphasis on HR, Business or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in Human Resources with some experience in a leadership capacity
  • Practical business sense and a hands-on approach complimented by comprehensive knowledge of leading HR processes, systems and programs, particularly around talent, analytics, employee relations and performance management
  • Strong personal credibility, influencing and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Change management experience and commitment to act as change champion
  • Exposure to continuous improvement tools, methodologies and culture is an asset
  • Knowledgeable in Federal legislation is considered an asset
  • Project management experience considered an asset
  • CPHR certification preferred.
  • Written and spoken competence in French is an asset but not required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing leadership and guidance for the development and implementation of common HR programs and policies across the organization
  • Ensuring HR fundamentals and processes are delivered on time and with highest quality standards Implementing and executing initiative and or projects to support HR vision Managing change and communication internally and externally in relation to process, people and systems, to ensure success and promote collaborative and productive culture in alignment with the organization's core values
  • Determining best practices for HR business partner service level and relationships
  • Coaching and developing HR Business Partners in executing effective and efficient HR services that drive company performance
  • Serving as the primary point of contact with key stakeholders (COE, Shared Services, management, legal, external agencies, etc.) on human resources matters.
