Disability Management & Safety Program Specialist
Job Requirements
- Leads proactive and strategic ability case management for all occupational and non-occupational illnesses, injuries and WSIB cases; including reporting and return to work programs
- Establishes and maintains contact with employees on disability leave.
- Coordinates with appropriate participants to prepare individual return to work plans and ensures that process and outcomes are evaluated.
- Identifies systemic barriers to return to work and assists departments to identify suitable transition work for ill/injured employees, and/or work that meets an employee’s accommodation needs.
- System owner of the site Industrial Athlete Program and knowledge of ergonomics
- Assists with incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective measure identification and completion
- Assist in developing and executing comprehensive wellness programs.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with employees in all departments.
- Perform and participate in other department related programs and initiatives as required.
- Coordinates site immunization programs
- Coordinates employee testing programs e.g., audiometric, visual and cardiovascular testing
- Performs administrative tasks and responsibilities related to providing support to the HR function.
- Must be willing to work in an environment with flexible schedules aligned to a 24/7 operating facility.
- Work experience and familiarity with a manufacturing environment is an asset.
The main duties/responsibilities of this role include:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline such as Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or Occupational Health Nurse. Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered
- Occupational Health and Safety or Disability Management Certification preferred (CDMP, CRTWC)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in disability/WSIB case management is an asset
- Must demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills and have a proven commitment to customer service
- Certified Audiometric Technician or willingness to pursue this certification.
- A valid First Aid Certificate course will be required to completed
