Irving Forest Products, Inc, a growing company on the leading edge of technology in the sawmill industry.


We are currently seeking Electrical Programmer. We are looking for safety oriented, energetic individuals to join our team!


  • Post-secondary certification/training matching the following skills/fields:
    • Business and industrial networking
    • PLC hardware & PLC programming 
    • Instrumentation 
    • Control systems
    • Industrial electrician
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Project Management ie. PMP
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and critical thinking skills 
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive related experience working on, managing, or leading automation projects
  • Experienced and skilled in developing and managing a project budget, estimating work effort, and organizing and coordinating project work
  • Experience coaching and motivating people to consistently deliver high-quality work 
  • Financial acumen considered an asset with an ability to build business cases.
  • Highly enthusiastic and ambitious
  • Outgoing with strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment 
  • Effective delegation and conflict management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification an asset
  • Green Belt/Black Belt certification an asset
  • Troubleshooting abilities with electrical controls, power distribution (high and low voltage), programmable logic controllers and variable frequency drives is essential
  • Knowledge and experience with motor control systems, PLC's, and DC drives in an industrial environment is important for this position
  • Ability to work shift and weekend work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of industrial electricians in a mill setting
  • Ensure that all site electrical systems are maintained in good working order in an effort to maximize the efficiency of mill equipment
  • Installing, repairing, troubleshooting and maintaining electric motors, scanners, drives, and PLC's on equipment used in the sawmill processes
  • Monitor progress and performance against the project plan
  • Identify, develop and gather resources to complete the project
  • Continuously seek and identify key areas of opportunities
  • Develop and implement appropriate tools to support other staff
  • Work on multiple projects at any given point in time
