ESTIMATOR (CONTRACT)

 

Irving Equipment is a well-established Heavy Lift and Specialized Transport company with over 60 years in business and a diverse fleet of mobile and crawler cranes, SPMTs, and other specialized transport and lifting equipment with locations in Saint John, New Brunswick, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and several other branches in Atlantic Canada and the United States.


We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Estimator to join our dynamic team in Saint John, New Brunswick. This is a contract position.

The Estimator will centralize and standardize our bid processes as a key member of our Business Development team. This individual will support Operations in the development, management, and continuous improvement of the bid process. The Estimator will ensure proposals meet consistent standards, and coordinate the collection of key proposal inputs such as pricing, costs, engineering requirements, examples of previous projects, and other information required to respond to bids.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the bid process including initiating bid kick off meetings, reviewing tenders and gathering necessary information required, RFI's, RFQ's and preparing bid for review and final approval.
  • Complete pre-qualifications for tenders/new customers.
  • Coordinate resources to ensure all bids are submitted on time and are of consistent quality.
  • Maintain records of created quotes.
  • Sustain strong internal relationships to gather relevant, accurate, information.
  • Update and maintain contract and customer files, including customer contact information in CRM.
  • Organize bid submission reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Competencies:

  • Post-secondary certification or degree. Civil Engineering Technology Diploma is considered an asset.
  • Experience with estimating, bid management, and contract management is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to strive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, including meeting facilitation.
