EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Founded in 1882, J. D. Irving, Limited is a large diversified enterprise based in Saint John, New Brunswick with a team of over 16,000 (FTE) in Canada, the United States, and select international jurisdictions. Our operations span the forestry, transportation, retail, shipbuilding, food & agriculture, consumer products, and construction industries.


We are currently seeking candidates for the role of Executive Assistant. This position is based in our head office in Saint John, New Brunswick.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and proof correspondence, analysis, presentations and documents in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Assist with key report development
  • Coordinate travel
  • Liaise and interact with other departments and divisions as necessary
  • Other duties and functions as required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an executive administrative assistant
  • Completion of post-secondary education
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • Ability to take initiative and problem solve
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; a consistent pro-active and energetic approach
  • Ability to appropriately multitask and prioritize in a fast paced environment
  • Proven team player
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal direction
