Front End Department Manager (Retail)
FRONT END DEPARTMENT MANAGER
Department Managers are responsible for the sales results and daily management of their area. This includes executing marketing campaigns, managing inventory, and participating in meetings in addition to the duties of a sales associate. This position is for our Kent store located at 809 Bishop Drive, Fredericton, NB
Kent in Fredericton South is currently looking for a Front-End Department Manager.
What will you do:
- Lead departments by demonstrating the highest standards of safety, customer service and merchandising
- Communicate information and priorities to associates and ensures they have the direction and tools needed to complete their tasks
- Manage associate performance through feedback and identifying training opportunities
- Handle associate and customer concerns in a fair and professional manner
- Supervising front end cashiers, customer service and gate house associates
- Arranging breaks and lunches
- Handling cash tils, counting, coining, verifying totals ensuring cashiers input in system
- Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the front end/customer service
- Customer service desk, assisting with refunds
- Authorize payments by cheque and the return of merchandise
- Resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages
- Hire and train or arrange for the training of new sales staff.
Requirements:
Strong mathematical skills and basic computer system knowledge
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Customer satisfaction-oriented
Strong communication and time management skills
Problem solving and decision making
Experience as a Retail Supervisor is an asset
Ability to handle moderate physical demands: standing for 8 hours, lift a medium size merchandise if required
