We are currently looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our HR Team within the Pulp & Paper Division of J.D. Irving. This position would be based at the Irving Pulp & Paper Mill in Saint John, NB. As an HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for coordinating with corporate partners to ensure the effective delivery of services in the areas of talent acquisition, payroll, and employee benefits. You will provide expertise and hands-on support to employees and managers in a broad range of HR functions including: Employee Engagement, Performance Management, Training and Development, Health and Wellness, and policies, procedures and process.
You will look after recruitment for the mill and assist in onboarding and engagement activities. You will also assist in the implementation of Human Resources projects and initiatives and ensure alignment throughout our business.
Responsibilities include:
- Recruitment and onboarding activities.
- Drive positive employee experience through building relationships.
- Support the development, implementation and coordination of common HR programs and services.
- Drive HR efficiencies and effectiveness in alignment with business objectives.
We are looking for the following skill sets and experience:
- Demonstrate professionalism and the ability to protect confidential information.
- Excellent time management skills and a demonstrated capability to work on multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgency to execute, meet deadlines and deliver results.
- Customer-focused, results driven team player. Flexible, positive can-do attitude.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism, accuracy and detail.
- Strong MS Skills, and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Completed post-secondary education (minimum 2-yr program). Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline would be considered an asset.
- 2-5 years of experience in related field.
- CPHR designation would be considered an asset.
