The Human Resources Co-op will be based out of Fort Edward, New York (1 Eddy Street, 12828). This is a temporary student position. 

We have an excellent student program at J.D. Irving with formal and informal opportunities to meet and network with people from all across the business, including other students. Job Requirements 

• Education required:
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at university and in good academic standing
• Demonstrated problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Customer focused individual with exceptional interpersonal skills
• Energetic self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel and Outlook

The main duties/responsibilities of this role include: 

Responsible for a variety of HR & Recruitment related activities that will give you an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, including:

• Assist with recruitment, including attracting and sourcing candidates, screening, interviews and working with Hiring Managers on candidate suitability
• Work collaboratively with team members from various departments on a variety of ad hoc requests
• Utilize our human resources information system (HCM) and maintain data integrity i.e. employee lifecycle changes
• Lead and complete special projects
• Perform any tasks associated with administering HR programs and initiatives including coordination of recognition, celebrations, employee events and community giving 
• HR continuous improvement i.e. standard work and digital initiatives
• Coordinate onboarding tasks and processes with Training and HR departments
• Assists Training department with employee development activities and record keeping
• Maintain and update employees’ files as needed
• Attend to employee inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, and other needs

What We Offer 

Irving Tissue is proud to offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including but not limited to: 

• $22.00 - $23.10 per hour, depending on grade level
