Human Resources Specialist, Operations

 

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States and around the world.  We have two state-of-the-art potato processing plants in PEI, one in Lethbridge, AB and another in Jamestown, ND. Headquartered in Dieppe, NB, the company also operates an appetizer plant in Wheatley, ON and has sales office locations in Toronto and Boston.

 

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast paced, ever-changing environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.  The HR Specialist will be responsible for executing HR programs and policies, providing overall support of business objectives and a positive employee experience.

 

 

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Post secondary education in Human Resources, business or equivalent experience

  • 3 years of experience working in human resources with preference to those in a manufacturing and union environment

  • High attention to detail and ability to prioritize

  • Proven ability to organize and facilitate multiple projects with stakeholders across the organization

  • Self driven with ability to work within a team

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel with the ability to create, obtain and update large amounts of data

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development and administration of HR policies and programs in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, training, HR data.

  • Support HR, within plant operations, regarding HR functions, programs, and policies

  • Use internal systems to acquire, track and complete HR reports

  • Maintain people database (HCM) and employee files

Salary Range: $50,000 - $66,500
