Midland Transport is currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator based out of our Mississauga, ON location.  Reporting to the Intermodal Supervisor, the selected candidate is a self-starter used to working in a fast paced environment with a strong work ethic, and a “Can Do” attitude.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Intermodal experience in Canada and USA Rail operations and custom procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Rail related software (i.e. REZ1, CN/CP website, etc.)
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and solid work ethic.
  • Must possess innovative and creative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and negotiation skills.
  • Dedicated commitment to providing high level of customer service
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form.
  • Results oriented while working well under pressure. 
  • Works well independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review booking information verifying accurate pick-up/delivery information and achievable.
  • Meet customer requirements at every stage of the dispatching process.
  • Work with carrier partners to convey equipment requirements, service expectations and rates.
  • Ensure that customs clearance procedures are is followed and processed correctly.
  • Ensure that TMS is up to date with communicative information and billing accuracy.
  • Resolve service or rate disputes maintaining integrity and reputation.
  • Optimize profit margin without compromising service.
  • Identify areas for improvement and actively participate in continuous improvement initiative.
  • Strategize to provide solutions to meet the customers’ transportation requirements. 
  • Understand current industry market conditions and communicate impacts to the business.
  • Ongoing sourcing of carriers for new and existing business.

  • Obtain required documentation for the load movement (i.e. Bill of lading, customs, etc.). 
  • Timely and accurate completion of a corrective action plan for service related issues.
  • Other duties and assignments as required.
