Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Logistics Manager is responsible for leading and motivating logistics operations teams to deliver results in key areas of safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping, and inventory. This position will provide leadership for execution of the physical material flow plan including daily operations of material flow activities and developing plans for growth and improvement of the employees, assets and the operation.



  • Demonstrating safety leadership to the entire department 
  • Strategic accountability for the logistic function at the plant
  • Mentor and develop direct reports to higher levels of capability and performance
  • Providing day to day direction to several direct reports in the areas of raw materials through to shipping
  • Optimizing the administration of logistics management function for both raw materials & finished products
  • Responsible for all or most of the following: inventory control, warehousing, transportation & distribution, customer service, production planning and customs, etc.
  • Working closely with maintenance and production staff
  • Measure and monitor logistics KPIs such as inventory rate accuracy, warehouse utilization, etc.
  • Provide and support for Continuous Improvement related projects as assigned
  • The primary plant contact with corporate logistics

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • University Degree or College Diploma or equivalent experience a definite asset; 
  • Direct experience in a logistics leadership role or related role;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, Cognos/JD Edwards would be an asset;
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills;
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects; 
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • High degree of attention to detail;
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
  • Effective interpersonal skills;
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Must be organized and have demonstrated the ability to multi-task;
  • Comfortable with computers;
  • Be able to multi-task
