Mechanical Engineering Co-op - Fort Edward, NY - Winter - Summer 2025
We are currently seeking a mechanically inclined engineering student studying a relevant engineering curriculum to be part of our Engineering Department as a co-op student for the Summer and Fall terms.

- Education Required: Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering degree
- Years of Experience Required: <2 years
- Must be fluent in MS Office, Excel, Word, Power Point
- Experience with CAD (AutoCad LT), Database (SharePoint)
- Must have a high level of professionalism and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills
- Able to work in a highly organized manner where detail, accuracy, confidentiality, balancing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines are critical
- The successful candidate will be expected to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful and ethical manner at all times, carry out all job responsibilities in accordance with site safety rules and expectations, actively participate in the innovation and improvement of the site and company, and “find a better way every day.”

- Plan, implement and lead assigned projects
- Create ACad drawings and details as required to support individual and departmental projects
- Develop material lists, cost estimates and budget inputs
- Work with contractors and business partners
- Assist team to resolve operating problems with process, maintenance, and plant engineering support
- Lead small project in process monitoring, investigation, and optimization
- Conduct statistical studies for operation review
- Work closely with production department to improve process and quality
- Follow safe practices at all times
- Equipment Reliability and Uptime Improvement Projects
- Waste Reduction Initiatives
- Root Cause Failure Analysis
- Preventive Maintenance Systems
- Work in cross functional teams from quality, safety, converting and paper making to drive business initiatives
- Working with vendors supplying high level services in all these areas
- Interacting with Operators who run our assets
- Designing, updating and creating CAD drawing for assemblies and components with follow up after installation
- Research, select, and prepare components and assemblies for installation
- Support production needs for new products and efficiency improvements
- Exposure to state-of-the-art Tissue Manufacturing business continuous processing equipment first Quartile Assets
- $25.75 - $27.40 per hour, depending on grade level
