Opportunities for SKILLED TRADES - Industrial Electrician and Millwright


Irving Forest Products, Inc, a growing company on the leading edge of technology in the sawmill industry.


We are currently seeking Industrial Electricians and Millwrights. We are looking for safety oriented, energetic individuals to join our team!


Electrician Qualifications:

  • Education Required: Trade Certification as Journeyman Electrician or Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology
  • Years of Experience Required:
    • 2-5 years of experience in an industrial setting. 
    • Previous sawmill experience is considered as asset
  • Troubleshooting abilities with electrical controls, power distribution (high and low voltage), programmable logic controllers and variable frequency drives is essential
  • Knowledge and experience with motor control systems, PLC's, and DC drives in an industrial environment is important for this position
  • Ability to work shift and weekend work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all site electrical systems are maintained in good working order in an effort to maximize the efficiency of mill equipment
  • Installing, repairing, troubleshooting and maintaining electric motors, scanners, drives, and PLC's on equipment used in the sawmill processes

Millwright Qualifications:

  • Education Required: Trade Certification or Associate’s Degree
  • Years of Experience Required: 2-5 years of experience in maintenance in an industrial environment with sawmill experience is desirable
  • The successful applicants will have experience working with stationary equipment used in some type of production process
  • They would have the ability to work in a team environment that is committed to working safe, while focused on improving production and maintaining quality
  • Previous sawmill experience and welding certification are assets
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required
  • Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting is required
  • Ability to work shift and weekend work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Machine troubleshooting, repair, assembly, preventative maintenance
  • Reading blue print and sketches proficiently to fabricate equipment and make modifications
  • Repair or replace chains; belt conveyors; gear boxes/drive chains; hydraulics & pneumatics; welding/cutting; and using power tools
