PACKAGING SUPERVISOR

Cavendish Farms is seeking a Packaging Supervisor who isn’t afraid to take control of a situation, lead a motivated team, and doesn’t shy away from the notion that the buck stops with them. The position is accountable for timely, cost-effective production that exceeds expectations of quality.


The successful candidate will manage the day to day operations of the entire packaging department, maintaining our impeccable standards and efficiency. The role calls for a strong communicator, capable of motivating their team to stay on target, like a trusted coach from the bench. Successful Candidate will possess the following Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of production experience in a food processing industry preferred;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proven decision making ability;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflict and build teams;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • A proven track record of being pro-active and taking initiative; 
  • The flexibility to adapt to rotating shifts on a 24-hour, 7-day operation schedule

  • HACCP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the day to day operations of the packaging department. 
  • Initiate problem solving in packaging to improve results.
  • Be responsible for the safety of your crew, conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Supervising the performance and results of union employees leading to a well performing team.
  • Utilize equipment, supplies and personnel to maximize productivity. 
  • Manage, rework and tote inventory daily.
  • Meet production output targets including yields and volume.
  • Identify productivity improvements.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to employees.
  • Report food safety and quality issues to personnel with authority to initiate actions.
