CFM specializes in Steel Manufacturing, Repair & Overhaul and Technical Services. Our Manufacturing division is driven through steel fabrication, conventional/CNC machining and application of industrial paint systems.  Our Repair & Overhaul division excels in the refurbishment of industrial rotating equipment.  CFM’s Technical Services division is unrivaled in dimensional control, survey, drone services, non-destructive testing, equipment calibration, weigh scales and mechanical field services


We are currently seeking a Production Planner, for our Saint John, NB location.



The key responsibilities of the position are as follows:
  • Review and interpret engineered drawing packages with a focus on metal fabrication and machining disciplines;
  • Schedule projects with shop supervisors and engineering department;
  • Coordinate and organize the routing of materials required to start projects;
  • Create kitting packages for supervisors and trades people;
  • Create project punch lists to support timely completion;
  • Communicate project and part statuses between various teams;
  • Support the inventory management of raw and processed materials in yard and warehouse environments;
  • Generate results through influence and relationships.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fabrication, machining, operations or plant environment preferred;
  • College diploma required. Experience in manufacturing, welding or metallurgy considered.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and shop drawings;
  • Strong understanding of steel materials grades and specs. 
  • Project management experience (Six Sigma, Lean, P6/MS Projects, Gantt Charts);
  • Ability to work in a team environment;
  • Demonstrated problem solving, judgment and decision-making ability;
  • Ability to multitask and maintain flexibility while managing shifting priorities;
  • Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks.
