SENIOR PRODUCTION ACCOUNTANT

Change at this rapid pace means excitement, innovation… and a whole lot of numbers with a whole lot of zeroes. We’re seeking a Senior Production Accountant to be based in Lethbridge who can evaluate, analyze and investigate financial and manufacturing variances, and is eager to solve fresh challenges day after day.


Reporting directly to the Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for completing ever-changing daily accounting, reporting for the accounting department and the entire management team. It’s a role that calls for more than skill with numbers; the Senior Production Accountant needs stellar communication and leadership skills, able to coordinate with Production, our Field department, as well as our valued outside vendors. Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • College Diploma or University Degree in accounting or other relevant field
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to facilitate process improvements
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership ability and ability to demonstrate initiative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High energy, committed learner that enjoys a challenge
  • Ability to work in team situations as wells as working unsupervised
  • Advanced MS Excel and MS Access are essential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, analyze, and investigate both financial and manufacturing variances
  • Present financial and manufacturing results to the Management team
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts
  • Ensure inventory control
  • Processing accounts payable/ Preparing the Potato Grower Payment
  • Aid in month end processing and reporting of financial results
  • Assist with Weekly/Monthly Forecasting
  • Management of Petty Cash
  • Report food safety and quality issues to personnel with authority to initiate actions.
  • Commitment to Quality System Policy
