SENIOR SYSTEMS ANALYST

The Senior Systems Analyst will be responsible for providing hardware and software support for the Enterprise Office 365, Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory Infrastructures at J.D. Irving Limited. The System Analyst role will include support, preventative maintenance and performance tuning of server environments across the organization while ensuring high levels of performance and availability. The individual will be responsible to ensure Exchange and Active Directory provisioning and maintenance is consistent with J.D. Irving goals and objectives. This opportunity is available in the Saint John or Moncton office.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education Required: A Degree or Diploma in related discipline
  • Years of Experience Required: 5-8+ years of experience with Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory
  • Ability to describe, create and manage system documentation, including standard operating procedures, and routine status reports; and script development, testing and implementation
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to describe participation in processes involving change management, vendor management, escalation procedures and project management
  • The following would be considered assets:
    • Office 365 and Azure deployment experience
    • Experience in EMC SAN storage, data replication, mirroring, configuring LUNs, zoning
    • Experience with VMWare, MS SCOM, MS SCCM
    • System Admin experience in Linux/ Unix O/S would be considered an asset
    • ITIL Foundations certified
    • Leading Change experience
    • Yellow Belt Certified

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Office 365, Enterprise Exchange, and Active Directory environment to ensure integrity, performance, accessibility and recoverability of data
  • Provide subject matter knowledge and problem solving abilities, acting as a communication focal point for other infrastructure teams with regards to all storage related issues
  • Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and platform maintenance activity
  • Documenting configurations, changes, issues and technical diagrams for supported systems
  • Day-to-day planning and activities including capacity planning and reviewing performance/statistic logs
  • Analyze, test and implement changes of a broad scope, high complexity and long duration
  • Investigate and resolve complex and unusual problems
  • Provide direction, technical support, education and training for high complexity activities
  • Liaise with other subject matter experts, development teams, implementation support and production support staff to refine technical specifications, system scope and objectives
  • Provide task estimates and scheduling with assistance
  • Configure, manage, maintain and continuously improve server, application monitoring
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for production support
  • Act as an escalation point to engage and manage all required vendor and external technical resources to effectively troubleshoot issues
