Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston. 


Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Shipping Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the realization of the production schedule by ensuring the necessary processing and packaging materials are on site as required.


Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • University Degree, College diploma, or Equivalent work experience;
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Strong understanding of warehouse/shipping and transportation;
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple projects and priorities while coordinating multiple crews;
  • Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Proven ability to trouble shoot and follow through with appropriate corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and supervise staff of unionized hourly employees to meet the immediate short, and long term objectives of the department;
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times by enforcing standards, policies and regulations;
  • Report and identify performance opportunities;
  • Train, schedule, motivate employees, and coach employees to ensure we are meeting our department and company objectives while always following the company's core values;
  • Participate in regulatory audits (CFIA , SQF, & internal);
  • Ensure customer orders are met while maintaining quality;
  • Conduct Crew meetings (Safety, Production, and Informational);
  • Maintain an accurate inventory and manage production rotation, following up on any discrepancies in the inventory with corrective action;
  • Approving time sheets for employees, vacation requests, leave of absences, etc.
  • Work with all departments internally and externally to ensure that we are customer focused in everything we do;
  • Investigate any forklift Incident and follow up with corrective actions;
  • Other duties as required.
