We are looking for a qualified Sr. Combat Systems Engineer for our Ottawa, ON office.

 

Our Sr. Combat Systems Engineers are a critical component of the Fleetway Engineering team that respected in the industry through their proven hands-on experience in marine engineering environments and their ability to provide solutions to client engineering design challenges. This Sr. Combat Systems Engineer, in particular, will work closely with our clients by establishing and conducting Performance, Configuration, Obsolescence and Technical Data Management. They will attend meetings as Fleetway’s representative and ambassador and they will lead the review of contract deliverables, provide technical support and prepare and deliver reports as required for the client.

 
 
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Applied Science
  • P. Eng certification/license
  • PMP certification an asset
  • 10+ years of experience in Combat Systems Engineering
  • Minimum one-year experience in Naval warship engineering projects
  • Must have attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to meet project deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian government security clearance.
 

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes:
 
  • Practical experience of having been a project manager for large and complex initiatives.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and Subcontract Management capabilities.
  • Strong client-facing and internal communication skills, written and oral and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Project.
  • Assist in establishing and conducting Performance Management Framework
  • Assist in establishing and conducting Configuration Management Plans
  • Assist in establishing and conducting Obsolescence Management Plans
  • Provide Engineering, Technical and Maintenance support to various clients.
  • Planning projects and monitoring progress and performance to ensure milestones are met.
  • Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved (customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team member performance)
  • Continuous communications with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services
  • Conducting project meetings and preparing reports to communicate the status of the projects within and beyond the project teams
  • Measuring project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques to permit accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle
  • Integrating work processes of multiple stakeholders and subcontractors to achieve optimum balance of budget and schedule performance
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation.
