Student Grower Job - Summer 2021 - Woodlands Division
- Work with our professional Grow Team to ensure nursery cultural practices are planned, implemented and followed to achieve target specifications for tree seedlings grown in the nursery
- Assist the Grow Team with the supervision and training of forest nursery workers as well as record keeping, including computerized record systems
- Work with and learn from professionals on all phases of growing seedlings – sanitation, planning, sowing, greenhouse management, seed stratification, media testing, crop culture, risk management, shipping, financial, etc.
- Currently enrolled in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Forestry degree or diploma program
- Interested in opportunities in pursuing a career in horticulture
- Able to work safely both in the office and lab environments
- Very good communication and organization skills
- Able to effectively manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities
- High energy level with thorough attention to details
