Student Grower Job – Summer 2021 – Woodlands Division
We are currently looking for motivated individuals to join us as a Student Grower as part of our dynamic Grow Team at Juniper Tree Nursery, located in beautiful Carleton County, New Brunswick! This is an ideal opportunity for students interested in working with a professional company that grows quality seedlings in a safe environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work with our professional Grow Team to ensure nursery cultural practices are planned, implemented and followed to achieve target specifications for tree seedlings grown in the nursery
- Assist the Grow Team with the supervision and training of forest nursery workers as well as record keeping, including computerized record systems
- Work with and learn from professionals on all phases of growing seedlings – sanitation, planning, sowing, greenhouse management, seed stratification, media testing, crop culture, risk management, shipping, financial, etc.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Forestry degree or diploma program
- Interested in opportunities in pursuing a career in horticulture
- Able to work safely both in the office and lab environments
- Very good communication and organization skills
- Able to effectively manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities
- High energy level with thorough attention to details
