Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States and around the world.  We have an appetizer plant in Wheatley, ON two state-of-the-art potato processing plants in PEI, one in Lethbridge, AB, and another in Jamestown, ND. Headquartered in Dieppe, NB, the company also has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal and Boston.


Reporting to the Supply Planning Manager, the Transition Planner will act as the liaison between sales & marketing, operations, supply chain, master data, and suppliers to ensure the smooth execution of all SKU transitions.  In particular, he/she will be focusing on managing new and transitioning SKU’s from the planning to production phase of the sunrise to sunset process.   Key to this role will be improving time to market and communicating effective exit strategy plans in order to minimize packaging and finished goods liabilities. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a “can do” attitude, and will thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and detail.


Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • University Degree in Business/Operations Management or Post-secondary degree in another field with applicable experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in supply chain, operations management, or project management
  • Understanding of Supply Chain, Operations, and Sales & Marketing
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to develop and maintain detailed project plans & problem solve with multiple stakeholders
  • Process oriented with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision, while delivering on-target result
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Key responsibilities:
  • Promptly calculate and provide ad hoc run out/exposure requests to aid in decision-making process and customer negotiations.
  • Communicate production planning information to the business for new product launches and transitioning items.
  • Closely monitor demand plan and production plan to ensure transition planning activities are accurately reflected.
  • Ensure accuracy of stock status information in ERP system reflecting the life cycle.
  • Maintain an accurate list of all transition write off cost and estimated exposure.
  • Ensure approvals are in place for necessary transition write offs and that items are physically disposed.
  • Prepare quarterly reports for finance team on transition write off costs. 
  • Owner of transition planning data within ERP system
  • All other duties as assigned.
