The Quality Engineer Co-op Student will be based out of Toronto, Ontario (1551 Weston Road, M6M 4Y4).
This is a temporary student position. We have an excellent student program at J.D. Irving with formal and informal opportunities to meet and network with people from all across the business, including other students. This is a great experience that will provide you with real, valuable work experience that will allow you to challenge yourself and learn from industry-leading professionals!
Job Requirements
- Enrolled in Engineering Degree (Chem Eng preferred; others may be considered)
- Strong computer skills and statistical analysis (MS Office, Minitab)
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement tools
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to analyze and communicate information effectively and accurately
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
The main duties/responsibilities of this role include:
- Process quality improvement initiatives/projects
- Leading or participating in the development of trial products and studies
- Conducting product testing and data analysis
- Analysis of data related to quality checks, quality parameters, and action plans
- Quality control laboratory relief and projects related to packaging
- Other duties as assigned
- $25.75 - $27.40 per hour, depending on grade level
- Co-op fee reimbursement up to $1000, if eligible
