Senior Accountant
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Midland Transport is looking for a motivated individual to work as a Senior Accountant based in Dieppe, NB. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the senior accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions and aiding the Accounting Manager.
Qualifications:
- Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree and in the final stages of obtaining a professional accounting designation or completion of the CPA program.
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum of five years equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite with a strong knowledge of Excel
- Knowledge of Cognos, E1 and AS400 considered an asset.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Independent and resourceful with strong problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high quality work.
- Forward thinking and driven to continually improve financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements.
- Perform journal entries, variance analysis and account reconciliations.
- Identify improvement and efficiency opportunities throughout Midland.
- Participate in development and implementation of change opportunities.
- Train, coach, and support Accounting team members
- Provide internal and external support to business partners.
- Other duties/projects as assigned.
